Multi-channel HD H.264 Encoder Electra-7000 (ELC-7000)

The Electra-7000 is the world's first 1-RU full-resolution multi-channel HD MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) encoder, developed and produced by Harmonic in 2006. As a leader in advanced digital television solutions, Harmonic has deployed tens of thousands of encoders serving countless users worldwide. The Electra 700 multi-channel HD H.264 encoder utilizes Harmonic's industry-leading compression technology to deliver broadcast-quality HD video signals at bandwidths below 7 Mbps, and audio supports high-quality encoding formats such as Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Digital+, and Dolby E.

The Electra-7000 multi-channel HD H.264 encoder provides up to 4 channels of HD video encoding and 10 channels of stereo audio encoding. It also supports statistical multiplexing between programs (VBR encoding). Advanced fade-in, fade-out, and scene change detection technologies optimize the transitions of HD video; the ENRGY integrated noise reduction technology with motion-compensated temporal filtering ensures smoother and clearer HD motion images.

When used in conjunction with the Harmonic FLEX card, the Electra-7000 multi-channel HD H.264 encoder can perform HD H.264 transcoding.

The Electra-7000 is the optimal choice for IPTV, satellite transmission, terrestrial digital television, and cable digital television system operators looking to provide high-definition audio and video services.
