ProStream™ 2000 MPEG-4 AVC and MPEG-2 High Definition Splicer

Harris's ProStream™ 2000 is a multi-service high-definition and standard-definition MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) and MPEG-2 digital splicer that supports real-time and seamless splicing of multiple compressed audio and video services, primarily for ad insertion applications. Based on open standards and IP, the ProStream 2000 is fully integrated with Harris's DiviCom® Electra™ encoders, ProStream 1000 streaming platforms, DiviTrackIP™ distributed statistical multiplexer, NMX digital service management system™, as well as CLEARcut storage encoding solutions and StreamLiner® ad insertion servers.
The ProStream 2000 is the industry's first splicer with multi-channel and multi-service capabilities in a compact 1RU chassis, capable of supporting multiple standard-definition or high-definition transport streams. The advanced ProStream 2000 does not degrade video quality like other splicing solutions, allowing operators to more effectively insert national or local advertisements into digital streams. The high density and multifunctionality of the ProStream 2000 enable operators to adopt scalable and distributed architectures to reduce costs per channel and better capitalize on incremental revenue opportunities from digital ad insertion when launching new standard-definition and high-definition services.

Typical Applications

Benefits of ProStream 2000
- Digital Splicing – ProStream 2000 allows operators to handle high-definition or standard-definition content encoded in MEPG-4 AVC or MPEG-2 compression formats.
Insert advertisements into the business.
- High Density – The ProStream 2000 features the ability to stitch together up to 24 HD AVC or 64 SD AVC transport streams in a 1RU chassis.
The density platform significantly reduces the required space and power consumption.
- Flexibility – The firmware upgrade option provides multi-channel standard definition and/or high definition as well as FEC support, allowing operators to scale as their business grows.
Its system scale offers a wide range of feature-rich services.
- ProMPEG COP3 FEC – Enables distributed network architecture, enhancing overall service quality and channel uptime.
- Supports full IP architecture – The ProStream platform features built-in IP interfaces that seamlessly integrate with scalable and cost-effective IP networks.
- Network Management – Harley's NMX Digital Business Management System simplifies the configuration, monitoring, and automation of both centralized and distributed architecture systems.
Redundant backup.
