Harley NSG 9000 Edge IP QAM

The Network Services Gateway™ (NSG) 9000 is a high-density edge QAM system that serves as a highly integrated digital video gateway, capable of multiplexing on-demand video streams over IP networks. The latest generation NSG 9000 HectoQAM can expand from 6 QAM to 486 QAM within a 2RU chassis, setting a new benchmark for density and flexibility. HectoQAM incorporates innovative new technologies that significantly enhance efficiency and ease of operation, including Harmonic's new EQAM virtualization™ software technology and agile frequency allocation of QAM across the entire spectrum.
In addition to providing unparalleled output density, the NSG 9000 also supports a variety of applications, including: Video on Demand (VOD), switched digital broadcasting, broadcast television, and modular CMTS.

The NSG 9000 is housed in a modular 2RU chassis and can simultaneously perform PID filtering, multiplexing, scrambling, QAM modulation, and RF upconversion on up to 108 MPEG transport streams. The NSG receives digital MPEG inputs through its Gigabit Ethernet port and sends them to different QAM modulators and upconverters to create output transport streams with QAM RF output signals. The NSG 9000 is also designed to meet the requirements of the DOCSIS 3.0 modular Cable Modem Termination System (M-CMTS) for downstream data transmission.
To maximize scalability and flexibility, the NSG 9000 is designed as a fully modular system. The chassis backplane features a passive design, and all processing and functional modules are hot-swappable. The chassis has 9 QAM RF module slots; each module has 2 QAM RF output ports, with each port providing 6 adjacent frequency QAM RF output channels. The system can be configured with two DC or AC power supply modules, which serve as backups for each other.
