LiveU, renowned for its technology that binds multiple cellular communication networks, has launched a cloud-based streaming service and partnered with SnappyTV to enhance each other's offerings. Tim Prukop, LiveU's Director of Sports and Media, stated, "The collaboration between the technical teams of both companies will allow customers to set up a seamless integration of SnappyTV with LiveU devices for streaming. SnappyTV provides a real-time, cloud-based editor that enables broadcasters and sports teams to create 15-30 second live highlight clips and then publish them to social networks like Twitter and Facebook," Prukop wrote in an email. "For anyone involved in live events, timing is essential. The ability to deliver real-time video highlights is truly exciting for engaging audiences during significant events or broadcasts," Prukop added.
The New York Giants are currently using this joint solution to publish real-time video clips of team activities. The Giants' marketing group plans to utilize this technology to release practice videos from this summer's training camp. "With training camp later this summer, we can establish a daily audience who will receive near real-time video highlights," said Don Sperling, the Giants' Vice President and Executive Producer, in a statement. "It's a simple process that anyone can easily use to capture highlights and then automatically share them across our social and online footprint." Prukop mentioned that he envisions this technology being used for any live, news, or sports event, as sending highlights to audiences could be beneficial.

PBS NewsHour, Fox Sports, and the PAC-12 Network are among the television networks currently utilizing SnappyTV's cloud editing.
