Harley has recently launched a multi-port T1 system that enables cable operators to cost-effectively enter transmission applications traditionally served by telecom companies, expanding its FLXLink series of commercial service solutions. The FLXLink T1-over-fiber solution is based on Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) technology, allowing secure transmission of enterprise and mobile digital voice/data services over existing broadband television networks of cable operators. In addition to multiple T1 ports, this system also includes a high-speed Ethernet (100 BaseT) port, which operates in parallel to provide high-speed network services and support future bandwidth-intensive services.
Millions of locations worldwide rely on T1 lines to distribute voice and data services. Applications range from enterprise PBX and network access services to backhaul wireless digital communications for mobile phone operators. Telecom companies generate billions of dollars in revenue each year from providing T1 lines. Now, cable operators can deploy this new FLXLink solution to quickly and cost-effectively enter this high-value market segment.
