Harley has announced the launch of the Omneon Spectrum MediaCenter SSD, adding solid-state drive (SSD) technology to its mid-sized multi-channel servers. The MediaCenter SSD features integrated memory and the modularity and scalability of the Spectrum MediaPort, making it the first modular server system to offer SSD or hard disk drive (HDD) storage options. This system provides excellent performance and reliability for broadcasting organizations and remote broadcasting facilities that require 4 to 12 channels within a single video server architecture.
The 2-RU MediaCenter SSD chassis comes with several SSD configurations, offering storage capacities of up to 4TB, allowing broadcasters to choose the capacity that best suits their needs. The system supports up to 12 channels at 50Mb/s, with a total real-time bandwidth of 600Mb/s.
The MediaCenter SSD is fully compatible with other members of the Spectrum series.
