HARRIS broadcasting applications lead the way in sports programming across Asia.

Global broadcast service content management and network infrastructure provider - Harris Broadcast, satellite, multi-service operators, IPTV, mobile TV, and OTT providers, today announced that it has completed the establishment of a major production facility for TEN Sports, a leading sports channel in Asia. The new production center and studio will go live in mid-September 2013.
“We are looking for a significant upgrade to the TEN Sports facility, which includes the migration to full HD production and broadcasting, advanced file-based media workflows, and a massive archiving and retrieval system,” said Mr. Amitabh Kumar, Chief Technology Officer of the Xu Group. “The task is very challenging as it involves migrating hundreds of thousands of hours of content from traditional systems with different broadcast equipment interfaces. With Harris Broadcast, we have a long-standing partnership and full confidence in their technology and integration capabilities, as well as their high level of service, which we will continue to rely on.”
The installation center, along with multiple servers, includes the Harris Broadcast automation system, media asset management, and online storage systems. The technological infrastructure also includes Harris Broadcast routers and multi-screen display systems, as well as signal processing and distribution hardware.
“We are very pleased to expand our long-term partnership with TEN Sports under ZEE TV,” said Chris Wheeles, Product Manager at Harris Broadcast. “Just like the news business, sports broadcasting requires unique reporting of live events. Our automation system is uniquely designed for immediate and rapid delivery capabilities. Our clients expect confidence in our technology, and we will support and collaborate with them throughout the lifecycle of their systems based on future needs and requirements.”
TEN Sports, part of the ZEE TV Group, also relies on Harris Broadcast systems for its news channels. The broadcasts include long-term rights to major sporting events such as ATP tennis, European and US PGA golf, and UEFA Champions League football. HD coverage has been provided since 2011.
