Authoritative professional-grade ultra-flexible transmission system
LiveU's new LU70 series offers authoritative cellular video live streaming uplink solutions for global broadcasters. Its second-generation proprietary internal and external antenna array provides mobility and satellite-like resilience in extremely crowded environments. The LU70 can carry up to 14 3G/4G LTE, WiMAX, and Wi-Fi wireless modems simultaneously, supporting an increasingly expanding range of cellular network frequencies worldwide.

The LU70 system includes new cutting-edge features, such as: One-Touch-Live (LiveU OLT™) mode for quick and easy real-time video transmission with automatic adjustment of video resolution at the touch of a button; multi-point distribution, allowing a single device to broadcast to multiple different destinations while increasing throughput to 10Mb/sec for even better video quality; and instant Wi-Fi access points, providing wireless connectivity in limited areas through Wi-Fi network connections.
Advanced Features
The LU70 also includes: quick uploads of pre-recorded materials, fast file transfer (FTP) to workflows from anywhere, IFB (audio channel return from the studio), store and forward, local recording, or external connection to storage local recording devices.
Second-generation proprietary internal and external antennas
LiveU's second-generation proprietary internal antennas support a greater number of frequencies, ensuring enhanced signal performance for long-distance reception and increased transmission capabilities. The new external antenna array provides additional flexibility in extreme conditions. Its optional rooftop-mounted antenna array facilitates LiveU's LU70, promoting a groundbreaking new mobile news gathering (MNG) vehicle with faster setup times and lower overhead compared to traditional satellite broadcast vehicles, offering broader opportunities for reporting on news events.
Full HD
The LU70 uplink solution supports resolutions ranging from CIF (360x240 pixels, standard definition) to high definition up to 1080i. Video encoding utilizes the highly efficient H.264 AVC codec, which is then transmitted to the studio. The LU70 features SDI or HDMI and analog video input interfaces along with IEEE 1394 for DV. On the studio side, the LU1000 software supports multiple synchronized SDI or analog outputs to television switchers, as well as various web encoders.
International Roaming
The LU70 offers an option for dual SIM cards for each modem. This allows users to switch between local SIM card setups while roaming in their home country and during travel. The roaming setup can be suggested by LiveU or configured by the user themselves. It supports both CDMA and GSM in the CDMA market.
Anton Bauer, IDX & Sony V-Mount Power Support
The LU70 series is fully compatible with Anton Bauer, IDX, and Sony V-Mount batteries. Whether as a whole, with cables, or in a backpack, it supports single or dual hot-swappable batteries. The cellular uplink unit can also operate directly on DC power, equipped with a built-in lithium-ion battery and supports additional hot-swappable battery types. The LU70 can be paired with various power options for hot-swapping, allowing for extended operation without any downtime, supporting even the longest imagined live events.
Pre-recorded Upload
Even if you don't need live feeds in every instance, the LU70 is ideal for preparing and uploading footage on the fly. Edit and add graphics on your laptop in the field, then utilize the LiveU system's multiple modems to upload finished files via FTP. Additionally, you can easily upload a large number of clips or studio-edited content.
Simple, Intuitive Control, On-Site or Remotely
The LU70 portable uplink system can be easily and fully operated using an intuitive touchscreen interface, allowing single operator control in the field, or via an external touchscreen. Furthermore, the unit can be remotely controlled from any computer or using various mobile devices such as iPhone, iTouch, Android, and iPad. The LiveU system also analyzes the data conditions in the field and automatically suggests the most suitable video settings.
Meeting Leading Broadcast Industry Standards
LiveU products support broadcast-quality transmission with minimal delay, compatible with SDI and analog inputs and outputs, such as industry-standard IFB channels and returns.
Flexibility in Live Production
In addition to direct camera input, the LU70 also supports input from various fields, editing, and exchange devices, thereby enabling multi-camera production and real-time on-site editing.
Platform Flexibility
Products that can be used for transmitting LiveU are compatible with both television and web/mobile transmission, and work with almost all CDNs or video live streaming platforms.
